Overview of Conversion Methods
SolidConverter GX gives you two ways
to convert files from one format to another:

- Convert Using Wizard - Walks
you through the conversion process with a multi-step
wizard. Use this option if you want assistance
during the process.
- Convert to a Selected Format
- Lets you quickly save one or more files to
a selected format.
Before starting your conversion process,
select one or more files to use by clicking the
filename. You can select multiple files by holding
down the CTRL key before clicking.
(Note: File formats you can convert
from are BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, TIF, and PSD. However,
you cannot convert other formats to PSD.)
Convert Using Wizard
To open the wizard, you can either
click the Convert button or select
Convert Using Wizard by clicking
the drop-down arrow next to the Convert
button then selecting from the list. The Wizard
steps will then display.

1. Select Image Format and
Output Path
You can select the same as source images, BMP,
JPG, GIF, PNG, or TIF. (Only one file format can
be selected at a time.) After selecting the format,
browse to the folder where you want your destination
file to be saved. When finished, click Next.
2. Select Image Color Depth
Select your color depth preference. Depending
on the file type you selected, different options
may be available. (For example, if you selected
GIF as your target format, the depth will be limited
to 8 bpp or less.) You can also choose greyscale
color.
3. Add Transparency
You can add a transparency to your converted images.
The transparent alpha channel can be created when
converting to PNG, GIF, and BMP formats. You can
select any color in your graphics to make transparent.
For images with a transparent alpha channel you
can optionally replace the alpha channel with
another color or remove the transparency.
4. Finish: Convert Document
Check your output choices on this page. If they
are correct, select Finish to
convert your file(s). If they are incorrect, click
the Previous button and adjust
your setting selections.
Convert to a Selected Format
To quickly convert to a selected format,
click the drop-down arrow on the right side of
the Convert button and select
the target format for the conversion. The converted
file will be written to the source folder. The
name of the converted file will be the source
filename with the extension corresponding to the
chosen target format. You can choose one of five
formats: BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, or TIF.
